Vote For The Greatest Films Of All Time, New Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes Stills, 15 Winter Soldier Secrets, The Day We Reunited The Goonies

Get 12 Issues Of Empire From Just £25!
Or a annual print + digital VIP package for only £30!

This week, we place a great and terrible responsibility on your shoulders. To continue our 25th birthday celebrations, we are conducting a poll to discover the 301 greatest films of all time (it's for our 301st issue, you see) and we need your votes to determine the favoured few films that will make the cut. It's time to decide how The Godfather compares to Citizen Kane, how Casablanca stacks up against Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, or how Soul Plane compares to Batman & Robin. OK, maybe not those last two (Soul Plane is worse, for the record). The entire result of the poll could hang on your vote; you have the power to determine the placement of Star Wars, The Lord Of The Rings and Vertigo. Don't crumble under the pressure, dammit; we're all counting on you to get this right.

Deputy Online Editor, Empire

Latest Red Band Trailer For 22 Jump Street
Despite the fact that it doesn't arrive until June in the States and here, 22 Jump Street has apparently posted its final Red Band trailer online. We'll believe it when we see it, but frankly it's just nice to have some extra time to spend with Schmidt and Jenko. Be prepared for bad language and the sight of Channing Tatum rummaging around in Jonah Hill's shorts.

More Found Footage: Another 25 Trailers That Tease Missing Scenes
We asked and you complied. Following last month's first instalment , here are another 25 trailers offering scenes that didn't end up in the finished film, mostly supplied this time by your good selves via Empire's various social media sources. Some of your memories, we suspect, were playing tricks on you - we couldn't find any trace of The Abyss' water tentacle turning into a gun, or Dumb & Dumber trailers that included the Little Old Lady scene - but most of you were on the money. Here are our favourites, and feel free to suggest even more... but bear in mind that are another 25 of these things on the other list.

    The Empire Podcast #106
With The Raid 2 coming out, it made sense to invite its director round for a chat about it, which explains why Gareth Evans appears on this week's podcast. Likewise, as Hammer's latest horror, The Quiet Ones, has Sam Claflin as one of its leads, it seemed like the right thing to ask him over for a cup of tea and a good scream. In other news, there's some new movie news, and the question-and-answer portion of proceedings, Carry On comes up. "Oo matron" and so on.

Gareth Evans And Iko Uwais Talk The Raid 2
When The Raid hit cinemas back in 2011, the bone-crunching, neck-stabbing, neck-snapping action film was a huge hit with critics and audiences. Now Welsh director Gareth Evans and his Indonesian star Iko Uwais are back with a film that's bigger and a lot more violent than the original. They sat down to talk with Empire about being more ambitious, back seat car shenanigans and Evans nearly getting killed by a flying car...

Ten Career Lessons From An Oscar-Winning Producer
To sit in Jeremy Thomas's office, a minute's stroll from Tottenham Court Road tube station, is to take a pew in a glorious chapel to all things British cinema. The producer, a veteran of films both famous (Sexy Beast, Crash) and cult (The Hit, Mad Dog Morgan), has accrued enough photos, keepsakes and memorabilia to pop'ulate a museum that Empire would happily pay to visit. On one wall is the framed Best Picture envelope Eddie Murphy sent him after The Last Emperor's Oscar triumph; on another, a Donald Duck cell signed "to Jeremy" by Walt Disney himself. There's a model motorbike on a shelf, testament to an extra-curricular passion, and a snap with Dennis Hopper taken in the long-faded New Mexico glare. There's an iPad on his desk although the VHS player, still in service after 30 years, would probably find a spot in that museum too. "It's a classic," he counters with a deadpan grin.

Joe And Anthony Russo Share 15 Captain America: The Winter Soldier Secrets
With writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, as well as Marvel super producer Kevin Feige, directors Joe and Anthony Russo crafted one heck of a superhero movie in the form of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The Community and Arrested Development veterans were on fine form during their Empire Podcast spoiler special interview - and you can listen to it in full here - but if you're not into the whole audio thing, here are 15 particularly fascinating moments from it in text form (with plenty more still to be heard in the full podcast version).

    Classic Feature: Empire's Goonies Reunion
"Hip hop! Hip hop! What are we waiting for? Move it!" Director Richard Donner is attempting to marshal the unruly ensemble cast of The Goonies, his mock-exasperated catchphrase eliciting chuckles, as always, from the movie's stars. But this isn't a flashback to a kid-ridden Burbank backlot circa summer 1984; instead, it's March 17, 2009, and we're in a top-secret Hollywood location, where a Goonies reunion is in full swing.

Classic Pint Of Milk Interview: Ken Russell
Music, controversy, biography, controversy, sex, controversy, Gothic horror, prostitution and, er, more controversy. He knows them all. But does Britain's enfant terrible know the price of a bottle of bovine brew?

Vote For The 301 Greatest Movies Of All Time
It's been five years since we last polled you to establish the Greatest Films of All Time. In the meantime, great new movies have been released and many of you have no doubt been itching to correct injustices or oversights you spotted last time around. Well, now's your chance. Vote for five films below that you think represent the very best of cinema, and ensure that your best-loved movies make it into the rankings for our 301st issue. Will The Godfather hang on to the top spot? Will Star Wars still place highly with J.J. Abrams preparing a new instalment? Can newcomers like Gravity or 12 Years A Slave make their mark? It's all in your hands, so get voting!

Are iPads And Smartphones Changing The Face Of Filmmaking?
When shooting Lawrence Of Arabia, one of the biggest challenges David Lean and cinematographer Freddie Young faced was operating the camera and the film. Sand, unsurprisingly got everywhere, the film was warped by the heat, and most of the rushes couldn't even be viewed until the crew had returned to London. Thank God, then, for technology.

Empire Classic Scene: When Harry Met Sally
In a packed delicatessen, Sally (Meg Ryan) challenges Harry (Billy Crystal) over his irresponsible attitude towards women...

Why Do People Think Captain America Is Boring?
This week Vulture published an article arguing that Captain America is "only interesting if he's a prick". It echoes quite a few conversations I've heard where people complain that Cap is "boring" or "vanilla" or whatever, like the only heroes they want to see are the ones who reflect the worst in themselves. And frankly, I'm beginning to wonder what the hell is wrong with everyone.

Screen To Stage: Let The Right One In
Let The Right One In has just opened at the London Apollo, following successful runs at the Royal Court and National Theatre Scotland, which is good news for vampire fans who are looking for a theatrical fix. After all, while our stages groan with doomed princes, '20s playboys and Mormon missionaries, there are relatively few literal bloodsuckers. And this is a strong adaptation of the book / film / whatever, but it hews close to what made Tomas Alfredson's 2008 film work and so its strengths become, for some, also weaknesses. This gives you much of the same impact but also retreads the same snow and blood into the same ground.

Cool propaganda-style posters for the Galactic Empire to promote Star War: Rebels. Well, we're convinced. All hail Darth Sidious!

Sexy Beast producer Jeremy Thomas hasn't finished Breaking Bad yet.

Spider-producer Avi Arad wears Spider-Man T-shirts, hats and glasses.

If you're torn between looking like Hawkeye and going to yoga, there may be an answer.

John McDonagh sat at Johnny Vegas' table at the Empire awards, but barely got to speak to him.

Marc Webb does a pretty good English accent.

UPS trucks are like Derek Zoolander: not ambiturners. As Game Of Thrones comes back, brush up on the matching history. Worst film ever? This interactive map of Middle Earth - which might come in useful if you get lost there.

Who's the Star-Spangled Man with a plan? Whichever of us wins the thumb war to claim this Captain America T-shirt by Fabric Flavours!

    Calvary

On the strength of only two films, McDonagh and Gleeson are a director/star team on a par with Ford/Wayne, Fellini/Mastroianni or Scorsese/De Niro. Calvary is gripping, moving, funny and troubling, down to an uncompromising yet uncynical finish.
