 | This Week... This week, Empire's seen more stars than there are in heaven: we've chatted to Harrison Ford (see the results of that next week), hosted Donald Sutherland and hung with Keanu "The One" Reeves. Of course, next week - just to make up for it - we're interviewing Spear Carrier #3 and the bloke who makes the tea on set, but it was a heck of a few days. We also got advice from Seth Rogen on maintaining a double-identity as a superhero as The Green Hornet is released, and chatted to the stars of Blue Valentine. Sometimes, this gig isn't so bad. Oh, and while we have you: if you haven't entered our Done In Sixty Seconds competition yet, you only have about two weeks left! You too could be swanning about with the stars at the Jameson Empire Awards in March, so you know you want to! Helen O'Hara Deputy Online Editor, Empire | | |

 | | | | I'm gonna put a price on your head so big, when you look in the mirror your reflection is gonna want to shoot you in the face. Yup, a line this deranged can only mean one thing: The Stath's back in The Mechanic | | | | | |

 | | | | | Smallville: The End Is Upon Us Over a decade since it debuted on the WB way back in 2001, Smallville is finally coming to an end. But after ten seasons and 211 episodes of consistent inconsistency is anyone still watching? And does anyone still care? | | | |

 | | | | | The Green Hornet Video Interviews Videblogisode Man has a problem and only Green Hornet star, Seth Rogen, can help. Can our intrepid hero get the counsel he seeks? Will he get his crimefighting life back on track? Or is this the end for our costumed adventurer? Find out the answers and more, in this very special one-off videblogisode, featuring cameos from Videblogisode Man's colleagues, Quickfire, The Plumber, and Apostrophe Girl. And as if that weren't enough, we also have interviews with Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz, Jay Chou, Christoph Waltz and Michel Gondry to tell you everything you need to know about a very different kind of masked crusader... | | |
| | | Keanu Reeves Talks Henry's Crime This year Keanu Reeves turns 47, a frightening thought for anyone who remembers him fronting up the Wyld Stallyns and putting San Dimas on the map in Bill & Ted's. He's back with a new comedy, Henry's Crime, in which he plays a man who finds new purpose in life when he bumps into James Caan's veteran crim behind bars. We caught up with Keanu to find out what it was like to work with one of Hollywood's true old school, and chat to him about his new movie. |
| | | 10 Superhero Vehicles Almost As Cool As The Green Hornet's It's not fair. It just isn't. Not only do superheroes have superpowers, get all the girls, and generally have all the fun - they also, by and large, get to drive ludicrously cool vehicles fitted with all kind of crazy bad-guy-destroying goodness. Miniguns, flamethowers, grappling hooks: you name it, they'll have 'em, the swine. So in honour of The Green Hornet's beloved steed, The Black Beauty, we've gathered together 10 other would-be competitors for the Best Superhero Vehicle crown for you to decide which is the best. So let us know in the comment box below: which would you rather have? |
| | | Ryan Gosling On Blue Valentine Blue Valentine stars Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams as Dean and Cindy, a young married couple trying to save their failing relationship. Flooded with romantic memories of their courtship, filmed cleverly with past and present flashbacks, the couple visit a motel in a last ditch attempt to fall in love again. We caught up with the actor when he was in town recently to chat about the critically-acclaimed film, and to find out if that really is him singing throughout... |
| | | Movie Pairings From Fairytale To Familiar Relationships have their downs as well as ups, that we all know, but it's been a while since a movie presented that particular truth with as little gloss and varnish as Blue Valentine. Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling are our guides through the ultimate screen woemance: a couple we see falling in, then, brutally, out of love. It's a horror movie for any young couple, mainly because it feels so real. The pair don't try to kill each other War Of The Rose-style, or go all Mr. And Mrs. Smith on us, but their love unravels before your eyes. So where does Blue Valentine rate on the spectrum of authentic movie relationships? Here's a handy sliding scale of some landmark movie romances rated on realism rather than pure romance. Warning: no Casablanca included. |
| | | Michelle Williams On Blue Valentine Our Damon Wise talks Oscar buzz and real heartbreak with the one-time Dawson's Creek star, who in Derek Cianfrance's Blue Valentine delivers an exquisite performance that cements her status as one of the most interesting actresses working in the US today - starring alongside Ryan Gosling in a teary relationship drama. In other words, don't forget your hankie for this one. |
| | | Sam Rockwell Talks Conviction Conviction is the true story of siblings Betty Anne and Kenny Waters. After surviving an abusive father, a drunken mother and various foster families, Kenny (Rockwell) is wrongly convicted of murder. Single mum Betty Anne (Hilary Swank) puts herself through law-school in an effort to appeal and overturn the sentence. We grabbed the chance to talk to the always-reliable Sam Rockwell about the film, which is out this Friday, and meeting the real-life Betty Anne Waters... |
| | | Donald Sutherland Webchat A true legend of cinema, Donald Sutherland's late '60s/early '70s purple patch encompassed classics from Dirty Dozen to Don't Look Now, by way of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, Klute, Kelly's Heroes and MASH. How's that for a CV? Not one to rest on his laurels - or rest full stop, seemingly - he's gone on to make a whole bunch of other memorable turns in films as varied as JFK, Backdraft and Pride & Prejudice. He popped by to answer questions on all these and his latest role as Jason Statham's mentor in The Mechanic... | | | |
