 | This Week... As we nursed our sore heads post-BAFTAs on Monday and packed away the dictionaries we'd used to decipher Stephen Fry's speech, by some strange magic the awesome Dan Aykroyd appeared in the Empire office to high-five us back into high spirits. In fact, it wasn't just us he high-fived; he insisted on pressing flesh with nearly everyone in the building, up to and including the befuddled security guard, before returning to pose with this pic with his phalanx of fans right here. Because that's the kind of man he is. He also webchatted his way through a stack of your questions on his Crystal Head vodka, Ghostbusters 3, Dragnet, and Jake and Elwood dance moves. Unfortunately we completely forgot to ask him to help clear that pesky Sumarian demigod out of the fridge. Oh well, next time. Phil de Semlyen Staff Writer, Empire | | |

 | | | | | How The Audience Can Make Or Break A Film My parents went to see The Woman In Black this weekend, and learned something about the importance of the audience you see a film with. You see, that Friday screening was full of teenage girls who had (we're guessing here) grown up watching Daniel Radcliffe play Harry Potter and had gone to his new film on that basis. And it's fair to say that they were not prepared for a scary film. There were screams. There were groups of teenage girls running out of the cinema at particularly traumatic points. There was, essentially, audience participation in the form of involuntary reactions. And the question is, what do we all think of that? | | | |

| | | What Not To Do If You Win An Oscar It was, as they say, a night to remember. Following The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King, Peter Jackson's team swept the Academy Awards, taking home every single one of the 11 Oscars they were nominated for and equally the all-time record of Ben Hur and Titanic. As part of our Oscar preparations, here we bring you the magazine's recent oral history of that night, the first time an entire nation has received all of Oscar's love. |

| | | Exclusive Dan Aykroyd Webchat Dan Aykroyd is a very personable man, walking into the Empire office with a beaming smile on his face and shouting, "Deadlines, people, deadlines!" The one-time buster of ghosts was in town promoting his particular brand of vodka - Crystal Head Vodka - which, would you believe it, comes in the shape of a crystal skull. Sitting next to one such skull, he answered questions about all sorts of things, from Ghostbusters 3 (of course) to the fine art of keeping a cigarette dangling on his bottom lip. All this and more in our exclusive Dan Aykroyd webchat transcript... |
| | | Kristin Scott Thomas On The Woman In The Fifth If you want to meet Kristin Scott Thomas - and let's be honest, you do want to meet Kristin Scott Thomas - Paris is the place to do it. The émigrée actress haunts the streets of the City of Lights, where she's busy building a career in French cinema, finding creative inspiration, and probably stocking up on croissants and smelly cheeses from time to time too. Her latest role, the eponymous Woman In The Fifth in Pawel Pawlikowski's art thriller, sees her returning to her first language to play the mysterious muse to Ethan Hawke's tortured writer. Empire hoped on the Eurostar to meet the actress and Pawlikowski, the man behind 2004's acclaimed My Summer of Love. |
| | | Charlie Brooker Talks Black Mirror Charlie Brooker seems to be everywhere these days. He's on Twitter, he's on 10 O'Clock Live, he's in the paper, he's on the radio, he's writing scripts - the man doesn't stop. His most recent success was his Twilight Zone-esque sci-fi series Black Mirror, a three-part exploration of modern culture and its dependance on technology. Given the chance to talk to him about it all, we ended up discussing Network, his writing alter ego and the chance of Nathan Barley returning one day - that is, if he ever has the time. |

| | | The Sexiest Characters In Cinema Forget George Clooney, pay no attention to Scarlett Johansson. This is about film characters, not film stars, and we asked you to decide on the most attractive fictional creatures of all time. Read on to learn more, and even learn a few ace chat-up lines that are GUARANTEED to work if you ever meet these fictional characters... | | | |

 | | | | | An amazingly tiny and particularly stylish Jawbone ERA bluetooth headset. Not only is this said to be the king of all hands-free sets but it has military-grade noise-cancelling technology. Military grade! That said, we've tried repeatedly to call in a tactical air strike with it to no effect. Perhaps we didn't read the instructions properly... | | | |
