 | This Week... It's the week between blockbuster releases, what with Iron Man 3 safely launched (in the UK - enjoy it today, Americans!) and Star Trek Into Darkness still awaiting general release. That basically means that half of us have spent the week discussing spoilers while trying to stay out of earshot of the other half of the office. But that didn't stop the excitement: to keep us going was the Star Trek Into Darkness review and premiere, the Iron Man spoiler podcast (learn all its secrets!) and a whole heap more of our enormous Soundtracks That Defined A Decade feature. What's more, Empire's podcast won Digital Product Of The Year at the Bauer Media Awards, while the magazine took Cover, Designer and Magazine Of The Year. In other words, we rock and if you're not listening to the podcast while reading the magazine and admiring how good it looks, you're missing out. Helen O'Hara Deputy Online Editor, Empire | | |

 | | | | | Cannes 2013: Some Thoughts On The Official Lineup Although the internet very nearly ruined any surprises this year, the Cannes Film Festival remains a somewhat bespoke event that makes it almost literally impossible to predict, even though the guessing game starts earlier every year. As ever, the initial reactions pointed out what's NOT there, something which also started earlier this year when new films by regulars Pedro Almodóvar, Woody Allen and Lars Von Trier were all nixed by the rumour mill in the run-up to Thursday's announcement. Having said that, most of the anticipated titles seem to be in the mix. | | | |

 | | | | | The Greatest Movie Soundtracks: A Celebration Our Soundtracks spectacular continues this week with the 20 Soundtracks That Defined The 1970s. This week, Robert Rodriguez and Neil Marshall talk us through their favourite movie music - so head along and get exploring... | |
| | | The Empire Podcast #59 The Blade trilogy, the Dark Knight trilogy, Man Of Steel, Godzilla... what's David S. Goyer going to do next? Well, aside from create a TV show called Da Vinci's Demons, appear on this week's Empire Podcast. Joining him is Looper and Brothers Bloom and Brick's Rian Johnson, who was kind enough to drop by just because he was in London and, you know, is nice like that. Elsewhere, the podcast team talk musical gems in the movies and whether Kelsey Grammer has ever actually tossed any eggs. Don't worry, it'll all make sense in context. Hopefully. |
| | | Iron Man 3 Spoiler Podcast Special Iron Man 3 director Shane Black and his co-writer Drew Pearce were kind enough to spend 25 minutes or so talking to us about their twist-filled Marvel outing recently, and here - alongside a 45-odd minute spoiler-filled discussion from Team Empire - is the result, a fascinating insight into what almost made the cut and how that plot point came about. Needless to say, many, many, many spoilers are contained within, so be sure to watch Iron Man 3 before you listen to this. |
| | | Peter Stormare: Rogues Gallery Peter Stormare is one of those actors who should probably have a criminal record, since he steals any scene that's not nailed down. In the first instalment of a new Empire series, we asked Stormare to talk us through the nefarious credentials of his most memorably villainous roles. |
| | | Hannibal's Bryan Fuller On Bringing Lecter To TV Bryan Fuller is the man who brought the world such TV shows as Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies. He's also a die-hard Hannibal Lecter fan, which makes sense considering his latest project is a TV version of the fava bean-loving psychopath's early days as a psychiatrist-cum-cannibal, Hannibal. Starring Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy, it's a beautifully shot take on Thomas Harris' most famous creation. In the following interview, you can find out about just that, as well as a few interesting titbits on what you can and can't get past NBC's censors... |
| | | The Best Of Macbeth On Screen This week news emerged that Michael Fassbender is attached to a new production of Macbeth , to be directed by Snowtown's Justin Kurzel and with Natalie Portman set to be his Lady Macbeth. It seems like a good move for Fassbender who is, after all, So Hot Right Now and Portman's reportedly been hoping to play Shakespeare's ambitious Lady for ages. What's more, while they're following in the footsteps of some of the greatest actors of the last century - including several of Fassbender's fellow mutants - there have been relatively few versions of The Scottish Play onscreen. Here we profile a few of the best... | | | |
