 | This Week... Today was a very macho day in the Empire office, since we welcomed Lee Child (above), author of the great Jack Reacher books, to visit and webchat with readers. We laid on a lunch involving lots of meat, and prepared ourselves for an onslaught of questions about Tom Cruise playing Reacher in Chris McQuarrie's upcoming film, One Shot. Thankfully, we also found time to ask the very funny Mr Child's opinion of working with Robbie Coltrane in Cracker and his favourite sandwich. Also this week, we test your knowledge of Woody Allen's glasses in honour of Midnight In Paris' release, talked to the cast of Johnny English Reborn, the stars of Tyrannosaur and the team behind The Lion King 3D, and looked at the most outrageous film characters ever to be based on real people. And if all that isn't enough, there's still that new issue of Empire out there for you to read! Helen O'Hara Deputy Editor, Empire | | |

 | | | | | The Harry Potter Studio Tour - First Look! It's still more or less a building site, but last week I donned hard hat, hobnail boots and hi-vis vest* to visit what's officially called the Warner Bros Studio Tour London - The Making Of Harry Potter, in development now at Leavesden Studios. So here's what I learned from the day, and what you can expect come next spring when the attraction opens to the public. | | | |

 | | | | | The 100 Best British Films Ever It's time to start singing Land Of Hope And Glory, down pints of warm beer and possibly have a nice cup of tea and a crumpet, because we have assembled the finest 100 British films ever made. It's been difficult to narrow down the selection and still represent the many facets of British cinema - from kitchen sink dramas to Cockney gangsters to boy wizards and costume dramas - but we think we've managed a pretty comprehensive selection. Step this way, and revel in some of the cinema world's best ever films. | | |
| | | The Ultimate Woody Allen Picture Quiz After The Ultimate Glasses Picture Quiz and The Ultimate Sunglasses Picture Quiz, this looks like a hard one, but in some ways it ain't. For starters, this quiz only has stills from Woody Allen movies in it, and only ones that he himself has appeared in - so no Melinda And Melinda, don't worry. And just so you know, there's a documentary, a couple of comedies and a drama he didn't direct in here, and we're not counting TV movies or cameo appearances. So what we recommend you do is hunt down Woody's filmography and work from there, as well as this ingenious diagram that outlines which spectacle frames Woody wears in each movie. Clever, eh? |

| | | Rowan Atkinson And Gillian Anderson Talk Johnny English Reborn Ever wanted to know how they go about kicking people in the groin on film? You know, without actually hurting the actors', ahem, unmentionables? Rowan Atkinson has the answer. He has the answer and told us what it was in front of a camera, in fact, and here is the resulting interview for you below. We also got the chance to speak to the lovely Gillian Anderson - who plays Johnny English's boss in the sequel - and she mentioned, amongst other things, the nerdiest thing she's ever seen. That's right, the geekiest thing Scully's ever seen. Imagine that. |
| | | Owen Wilson: A Viewer's Guide He's back on screens this week in Woody Allen's Midnight In Paris, so now seems like a good time to take a quick look back over Owen Wilson's career to date and see where the hits and misses lie. Bursting onto our screens alongside his brother Luke and ol' buddy Wes Anderson (with whom he's done most of his best work), Wilson climbed quickly up the Hollywood ladder, specialising in light comedy and projecting a breezy insouciance that works brilliantly against more uptight foils. Here are the best of his roles to date, and a few that are not quite so good... |
| | | Paddy Considine And Olivia Colman Talk Tyrannosaur Paddy Considine's directorial debut, Tyrannosaur, is an absolute triumph. Starring Olivia Colman, Eddie Marsan and Peter Mullan, its garnered rave reviews from everyone, and looks set to be the start of a wonderful directorial career. We've already had our man Paddy round for a webchat, but we love him (and Olivia) so much, when there was a chance to speak to him on camera, we couldn't say no. So to learn more about the film, Paddy and Olivia, click play below. Ah, go on. |
| | | Outrageous Film Characters You Didn't Know Were Based On Real People Fiction is full of great writers with great ideas, dreaming up the most fantastical worlds where we can lose ourselves. But sometimes the best stories come from the real world. With a little exaggeration, artistic license, or 'reimagining', these things can be the premise of a bloody good film. After all, some people live remarkable lives, so why spend all that time dreaming up a scenario or character when you've got a good story right there? Here are some very different personalities that you might not know were real (or partly real), ranging from faithfully reconstructed biography to outright fantasy... |
| | | The Lion King 3D: Don Hahn & Moira Kelly The Lion King is one of the most beloved Disney films of all time, and its recent 3D re-issue in the US has shown that it's as popular as ever. As the UK version comes out today, we've got a couple of interviews, with producer Don Hahn and voice actress Moira Kelly (adult Nala), to discuss the film's enduring appeal. Look out for more from the cast and crew when the Blu-ray hits in a month or so... |
