 | This Week... It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here in the Empire office, with everyone slacking off even more than usual and heated debates centring not on thorny questions like the respective merits of Hugo and War Horse but the far more controversial issue of how to eat mince pies (hot, with cream; there should be no question). We've also been talking to Bradley Cooper who, since we last spoke, has been named the Sexiest Man Alive. We have that effect on people. I mean, think about it: Empire has also spoken to past winners George Clooney, Matt Damon, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. I think we all know where Ryan Gosling went wrong in his campaign this year now... Helen O'Hara Deputy Editor, Empire | | |

 | | | | I just made my own exquisite gilded elven armour. But I want to make myself dragon-scale armour; that's the long-term plan. Dragon-bone for the heavy armour; dragon scale for the light. Dan is WAY too into Skyrim. | | | | | |

 | | | | | Screen To Stage: The Ladykillers The Ealing comedies are still some of the finest ever committed to screen, films that are as wise as they are witty. And one of the chief among them, jostling with Kind Hearts And Coronets for the, er, crown*, is The Ladykillers, wherein Sir Alec Guinness portrays a massively creepy master criminal intent on a great train robbery. The film has now hit the stage, at London's Gielgud Theatre, with Peter Capaldi in the lead, a Graham Linehan-adapted script and direction by Sean Foley. The good news? It's significantly better than the Coen Brothers remake of a few years back, and really hilarious night out in its own right. | | | |

 | | | | | The Hobbits Reunited They said it couldn't be done. They said we would be fools to try to wrangle the four actors who played the main hobbits in Peter Jackson's epic Lord Of The Rings trilogy into one room. But we travelled for thousands of miles, endured orcs, wraiths, lava and more to make it happen. All right, so we just gathered the lads – Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd – in a photo studio. But it was the first time they'd been together in who knows how long (not them, apparently). We had them talk bonding, bruises, and baths. And yes, they also complained about their feet… | | |
| | | Jameson Empire Awards 2012: Vote Now! It's the most irreverent awards night on the celluloid calendar — and we need you to help decide the winners. The choice is yours - and we don't envy you the task, for it's been a hell of a year. The competition is open to any film that was released between January 22, 2011 and January 20, 2012, which means that the late-blooming likes of Michel Hazanavicius' The Artist, Steve McQueen's Shame and Steven Spielberg's War Horse are all in contention. |

To 60 seconds and not beyond! |
| | | Bradley Cooper Talks The Hangover Part II Bradley Cooper is, officially, the sexiest man in the world. Annoyingly, he's also one of the most charming - something we learned firsthand when he came into the Empire office earlier this year for a Limitless webchat. He was so bloody delightful that when we heard he was in town again promoting The Hangover Part II, we didn't hesitate. Here is the resulting video interview, which covers everything from souvenir underwear to the Bangkok Tourism Board. |
| | | Robin Williams Talks Zelda! Maybe it's all those hours of practice in their trailers, or maybe it's because they can afford special tailor-made, gold-plated controllers that allow for extra torque. Whatever the reason, it's a fact that many of the biggest names in Hollywood are also gigantic gaming freaks who could totally pwn your butt in a first-person shooter. Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro often take each other on at Call Of Duty: World At War (Jackson once revealed to Empire that they particularly dig the Nazi-zombie add-on level). J. J. Abrams is a massive fan of the Uncharted series, to the point that he's promised a role in Star Trek 2 to voice star Nolan North. And Vin Diesel can often be found down a mine in World Of Warcraft. But perhaps the biggest gaming geek of all is Robin Williams, who is so into Nintendo's Legend Of Zelda franchise that he travels the world promoting the games, even though he has nothing to do with their creation. Empire recently met up with Williams and his daughter Zelda (yes, she's name after the pixel princess) in a Knightsbridge hotel to find out why Link still rocks their world. | | | |
