This week's entirely rebooted newsletter honours a seven-day period more packed with franchise updates than the contents of Ronald McDonald's in-tray. There was an exciting Star Wars update from J. J. Abrams' mission control, a new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, word from Jurassic World, an ectoplasmic splodge of Ghostbusters 3 intel, news of an Incredibles 2 and in an unexpected twist, the revelation that Sofia Coppola will tackle The Little Mermaid. Not literally. So how is this New Newsletter different? Well, basically we've added a colon and called it The Amazing Friday Newsletter: Eat Dust, Week. Oh, and Quote of the Week got fixed in post. Enjoy!

    The Empire Podcast #103
In this week's Empire Podcast, mind-blowingly masculine Labor Day star Josh Brolin is joined by a similarly manly British counterpart in the form of Jack O'Connell (of Starred Up, This Is England and 300: Rise Of An Empire fame). Elsewhere, the team spoil the concept of spoilers for everyone, and decide which unassuming English actor should get their own Taken-style action franchise.

The Making Of Four Weddings And A Funeral
I do. Two little words, so rarely heard when it comes to the British film industry, have been bandied about in one film's direction of late. First the financiers said them, then the director said them, then some big stars said them and now, all over the world, cinemagoers are answering in the affirmative to Four Weddings & A Funeral, the most successful British comedy since A Fish Called Wanda. Phillipa Bloom reports...

Found Footage: 25 Trailers That Tease Missing Scenes
Tony Stark's "You complete me", Paranormal Activity 3's Bloody Mary game, Point Break's "Babes, sir" and The Transporter's glorious moment of RPG vs. tea tray... all are scenes that graced trailers but failed to show up in the completed movie. With promo clips often put together during production and before final cut, they can sometimes contain otherwise-unseen gems. In other cases, they can be deliberately misleading. Here are 25 examples representing both angles...

A tender, nostalgic and warm 'family' drama which also quietly seethes with the threat and tension of imminent danger. Labor Day shows a new side to Jason Reitman as a filmmaker, and we like it.
