 | The West Wing Of Empire Towers James and Helen aren't here this week, which means, like an ageing gunslinger strapping on the Smith and Wessons to face down the bad guys one more time, I'm writing the newsletter for the first time in ages. It also means that they weren't here for the visit of West Wing legend, Richard Schiff, who popped in yesterday for a fun and frank webchat. This would have hurt them deeply, because they're utter West Wing nuts, who've watched the box set innumerable times, quote the bloody thing endlessly in the office, and say things like, 'What would CJ do?' in meetings, which is always highly annoying. I, on the other hand, have seen about four episodes, couldn't tell them apart (they all appeared to involve people walking from room to room while gabbling reams of incomprehensible jargon; if you've met James, it soon becomes clear why he likes this) and couldn't give a flying monkey's what CJ would do. Thankfully, Mr. Schiff was so charming and lovely that I'm now something of a brown-nosing convert and intend to watch the box set just as soon as I've worked my way through the last series of Deal Or No Deal, waiting for me on Sky+. Vote Bartlet! Chris Hewitt News Editor, Empire | | |

The key players were in London last week to talk up the 3D blockbuster, so we sent Chris Hewitt along to chat to them. Imagine it as an actual clash of the titans except, if in place of one of the titans, you had a small, weedy film journalist instead. | | |

| | | Video: How To Train Your Dragon Videblogisode How To Train Your Dragon the latest slice of charming animation from those bods at DreamWorks opened in cinemas last week. So here, as a way of belated celebration, is an exclusive videblogisode we recorded recently, when we sent Chris Hewitt and Sam Toy to DreamWorks Animation's California HQ, and let them run amok. He tried to steal a stapler from Jeffrey Katzenberg's desk, but failed. Luckily, he came back with interviews with Gerry Butler, Craig Ferguson, Jay Baruchel and Jonah Hill instead. Seems like a fair swap... |
