 | Egregious Errata I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise for the string of errors in last week's newsletter. Many of you have written in to tell me how your eyes bled at the spelling and grammatical errors and how you wept rivers upon discovering that all the competition links were wrong. All I can say is... blame Amar! The idle git decided to take the day off and I had to re-learn HTML and put the newsletter together myself. How, I hear you ask, does this lead to basic punctuation errors? Well, the newsletter normally gets checked before it goes out but, quite frankly, my sanity couldn't stretch to making the changes if errors were found (Have you tried locating tiny captions in a sprawling HTML document recently?), so I didn't bother. We're 100% professional here at Empire. James Dyer Online Editor, Empire | | |

 | | | | | Is DiCaprio 'The King Of Hollywood'? The Guardian today, G2 specifically, leads with a long think-piece positing that Leonardo DiCaprio has become "King of Hollywood" while Tom Cruise is now its court jester. My first reaction, not dispelled by reading the article a couple of times, is that this is hardly comparing like for like. Read more. | | | |

 | | | | | A Spotter's Guide To Modern Dance Movies This week sees the release of Step Up 3D, the delightfully over-the-top 3d-ified latest instalment in the dance franchise that just won't quit. For aficionados of the genre, the stereoscope should give this film a little extra, as the French say, I-don't-know-what. For everyone else, you might need a little extra help telling all the dance movies of the last few years apart so, with those unfortunates in mind, we bring you a cut-out-and-keep guide for when you just gotta (watch) dance. | | |
| | | Guess The Movie Monster Monsters, eh? Cinema's back catalogue makes for pretty scary viewing on the ooga booga, bump-in-the-night, murder-you-in-your-sleep front, and it seems that we have a new movie fiend to add to the cinematical canon in the form of Splice's Dren, the creation of (who else?) morally questionable scientists that know not what they do. To celebrate it / her inclusion into the movie monster club, here's a devilish picture quiz for you. Name that movie people, before they eat you. Or something. |
| | | Video: Anna Mouglalis and Mads Mikkelsen on Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky Seven years ago Anna Mougalis became the muse of Karl Lagerfeld, head designer at Chanel. These days she's actually playing the lady herself in Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky. With Mads Mikkelsen as the composer and based on the Novel 'Coco & Igor' this visually stunning film focuses on Chanel and Stravinsky's illicit relationship in 1920s France. We talked to the impossibly chic stars, Mougalis and Mikkelsen, to get the lowdown on learning French, competing with music and wearing haute couture Chanel. |

 | | | | | Shutter Island DiCaprio delivers a startling prettyboy-to-tough nut makeover – but he has to play it close to his chest here for the storyline to play out. Once you get past the trickery, Shutter Island offers sumptuous, enthralling, shivery gothic filmmaking with a hardboiled heart and a sly line in asylum humour. If a pot is being boiled, at least it's an intricately-decorated pot on a spectacular fire. | | | | Also Out | | |
