This Week...
The big news this week was the unveiling of the full line-up for this year's London Film Festival - and not just because they gave us free croissants at the morning press launch. No, it's because it looks like another banner year for the Festival, which starts with Never Let Me Go, finishes with 127 Hours and packs nearly 200 other movies inbetween. We were there to get the news on what you can expect to see, and the announcement story will only be the start of our full coverage of this year's event. Elsewhere, our Jeff Goldblum interview is perhaps the strangest and best you'll see all year, and we asked Hollywood nice guy Justin Long for his guide to the rom-coms it's OK for guys to like…

Full Priest Trailer Hits The Web
Priest, adapted from Min-Woo Hyung's Tokyopop graphic novel series, is set in an alternate, dystopian world where civilisation was nearly destroyed after years of war between mankind and the vicious, subterranean vampire race, a sort of cross between hell spawn and the xenomoprh from Alien.

Why Is Found Footage So Scary?
What is it exactly that makes the found footage phenomenon so damn scary, even now? For a fad, it's been around for a good while, and with the success of The Last Exorcism ($33 million plus so far in the US), it's definitely still got legs. So what is it about it that still makes us shake in our seats? And though I'm no Kim Newman (and I'm really, really not), here are my two cents. Ready? Here goes...

Video: Jeff Goldblum Answers Your Twitter Questions
Jeff Goldblum, currently treading the boards in a West End play, is also appearing in romantic-comedy-with-dramatic-bits The Switch. Despite being busier than a bee with a major diary clash, the mighty Goldblum still found time to answer some questions. Your questions. From Twitter. And quite brilliant they were too. But not as brilliant as his answers...

    Justin Long's Guide To Rom-Coms
Justin Long was in town recently for the premiere of his surprisingly man-friendly (and, y'know, good) new rom com, Going The Distance, and as self-confessed Ed fans (well, one of us is, anyway), we jumped at the chance meet the man. Armed with a long list of potential rom coms that men might be allowed to love, Justin took us through the 8 best of the best – and they're not the ones you're expecting...

Vote For The Greatest Trilogies Ever Made
In the Empire office, we've been debating of late what the greatest trilogy ever made is. By that we mean a set of three films, whether or not garlanded by sequels or prequels, which stand together and which are all, consistently good. Does The Lord of the Rings surpass the Three Colours trilogy? Are you the person who argues that the Star Wars prequels are better than the originals? Or are you Swedish and/or lucky enough to have seen all the Millennium films to vote for those?

Video: Cyrus Cast And Crew Interviews
Cyrus is the first studio film from acclaimed indie filmmakers Jay and Mark Duplass. It stars John C. Reilly as a recently divorced man who strikes up a relationship with a single mother (Marisa Tomei) who has an extremely possessive son (Jonah Hill). We talked to all the stars and the directors to get the lowdown on a very different sort of rom-com with a very real-world feel...

Video: The Cast And Crew Of Tamara Drewe
Based on Posy Simmonds' graphic novel, Tamara Drewe is the latest offering from genius director Stephen Frears. The dark comedy centres around a gorgeous young journalist who returns to the rural Dorset village she grew up in. Having left as an ugly duckling she returns as a femme fetale who causes scandal and heartbreak wherever she goes. We caught up with Gemma Arterton, Dominic Cooper, Tamsin Greig and Stephen Frears earlier this week to get the gossip on sex scenes, prosthetic noses and two teenage girls who steal the show.

Talking at the launch night of the Russian Standard Vodka Originals Film Festival, Kick Ass creator Mark Millar talked about his increasingly busy future slate — Nemesis directed by Tony Scott. Nis new comic book Superior and his first directorial project. But of course we started with Kick Ass 2, the sequel due out 2012.

Think The Archers with a sprinkling of trendier folk and a lot more shagging. Very intelligently funny, with stellar performances.
