 | This Week... You may have noticed our world exclusive Tintin cover, which we were able to unveil on Monday - it's the very first look anywhere in the world at Spielberg's take on Belgium's most famous son, and we have lots more pictures and exclusive interviews with those involved inside the new Empire (on sale now!) We also took our lives and our delicate sensibilities in our hands this week when we invited the Jackass crew into the office for a webchat. Happily, Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze and Johnny Knoxville behaved like perfect gentlemen for the duration - well, except for Jeff giving Spike an impromptu haircut and Johnny writing out a list of porn movie titles for classic films. Still, no genitalia were whipped out or violently abused, nor did anyone break any bones, so that's probably a win. Helen O'Hara Deputy Online Editor, Empire | | |

 | | | | | Blood Stone 007 Preview It might be on your console rather than your local multiplex, but Daniel Craig's Bond is back. Unsurprisingly, there's an international conspiracy, and only Her Majesty Secret Service's finest, unperturbed by budget cuts, can unravel the mystery that surrounds the theft of Britain's covert chemical weapon. | | | |

 | | | | | Become A Heist Films Expert In Ten Easy Movies Playing out like a guns-blazing origin story for every jailhouse drama and prison-break thriller out there, the heist movie is a thread you can pick all the way back to Hollywood's golden age. Filled with tough guys, grasping palookas, dime-a-dance dames, double-crossing fences and shady masterminds, they cut us adrift in murky worlds where good and bad are often interchangeable. Thanks to minds as devious and elastic as Goldfinger, Gruber and Cobb, great caper movies have given us a few pointers on honing the ultimate raid. Should you ever decide to take down the Bank of England - and we're not recommending it – here's our ten-step homework guide to mastering this most noir-tinged of genres and avoiding common pitfalls… | | |
| | | Travel Tips We Learnt From The Movies Take one somewhat uptight man (Robert Downey Jr.) and one easy-going goofball (Zach Galifianakis) and force them to take a road trip together. What have you got? Planes, Trains And Automobiles? No, wait, Due Date! That's it – Due Date. A mismatched couple comedy that sees a trip travelled and hijinks jinked at a high level. But after watching it, it made us think that road tripping with a dog is probably not a good idea – and whether other movies had any tips for our next travels abroad. Guess what? They do… |
| | | Video: Chloe Moretz Talks Let Me In Let Me In - the American remake of chilling Swedish vampire flick, Let The Right One In - opens today, and it's every bit the equal of the original. Chloe Moretz, who follows up her breakout role as Hit Girl in Kick-Ass with a tragic and layered turn as Abby, a centuries-old vamp trapped in a young girl's body, was in town this week to talk up Matt Reeves' movie, and we popped along for a chat that took in everything from vampires to The Only Way Is Essex. Shut up! |
| | | Video: Mike Leigh and Lesley Manville On Another Year It's not always hard to tell Mike Leigh and a ray of sunshine apart, but his films continue to take the breath away. At times as reassuring as a steaming brew; at others, as bleak as a winter's morning, Another Year sees the master filmmaker at the peak of his powers. It's a torch song to the struggles of life, ageing and running a small car. We chatted to Leigh and Lesley Manville whose performance as the film's struggling 40-something, Mary, is already attracting Oscar buzz. |
| | | The Ultimate Alien Picture Quiz Space... the final frontier. The great beyond. The endless void of blackness. Nothing is going on there at all -- apart from, you know, all the alien creatures that keep popping up. Some are big and nasty, some are small and cuddly and a few are even slimey and gooey. We've got bloody loads of them here for you to look at, and guess the films they appear in. You know the drill soldier: green tick=good, red cross=bad. Now hop to it. |
| | | The Transcript: Jackass 3D Webchat Jackass, eh? What a load of naughty scoundrels they are, what? When we found out that director Jeff Tremaine, producer Spike Jonze, and star Johnny Knoxville were going to be descending on our offices for a webchat, we swiftly hid anything breakable, flammable or explosive – they managed to find the air bazooka and ornamental katana anyway – as well as answering a few questions. Oh, and they cut bits of each other's hair off too, as well as thinking of porn versions of movie titles. All in a day's work... |
| | | Video: Bell, Greutert & Mandylor On Saw 3D Saw isn't for the faint of heart at the best of times, and with the latest instalment coming in glorious 3D, it's more frightening than ever. Our man in L.A., one Mr. James White, managed to catch up with its director Kevin Greutert and its ever-so-evil stars Costas Mandylor and Tobin Bell, to discover their favourite traps, their biggest fears, and what makes the franchise so fantastically popular. Hint: it involves fiendish hurt machines... |
| | | The Walking Dead: On-Set Interviews Our man in LA recently went along to visit the set of new zombie show The Walking Dead to talk to the cast and crew. As the series rolls out on UK TV's FX this week, here are the results: your own personal guide to working with zombies and adapting an ace graphic series into what will hopefully be an ace TV show... |

| | | Jameson Empire Awards Done In 60 Seconds Competition Ladies and gentlemen, it's back - and this time it's personal. It's time once again for the Empire and Jameson Done In Sixty Seconds competition, where we ask you to recreate classic movies in no more than a minute. You must take a piece of cinematic genius (or not-so-genius if you prefer), boil it down to its essence and cram it all into a timeframe shorter than the life expectancy of the comedy sidekick in a slasher movie. To take part in this year's competition and be in with a chance of winning an Empire Award and attending the star-studded and glittering Jameson Empire Awards in March 2011, grab some mates and blag a camera from somewhere and get shooting. To sixty seconds, and not beyond! | | | |
