This Week...
Prepare yourselves: next Tuesday we host an American Pie: Reunion webchat. Jason Biggs, Mena Suvari, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Eugene Levy and Jennifer Coolidge will be visiting the office to tell all about the new film, and of course name their favourite sandwich too. We will, needless to say, be hiding all baked goods before they get here so that our pies will be safe from molestation. But this week was a busy one in its own right. We got a sneak peek at Prometheus, spoke to the Battleship cast about their naval adventures and Joss Whedon about The Cabin In The Woods. We also continue to provide essential public services by bringing you useful guides on surviving first contact with alien races, and recognising the various Hulks that have graced our screen over the years. You're welcome!

New Avengers Clip And Featurettes Online
As the seconds and minutes drag past while we wait for Avengers Assemble to hit our screens, here's another clip from the film, showing a bit more of that already-glimpsed confrontation scene between Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark and Tom Hiddleston's Loki.

19 Things We've Learned About Prometheus
If you've read this month's issue of Empire - and if you haven't, stop faffing around and go and buy it immediately, then come back here and continue where you left off - you'll no doubt share our excitement about the cover feature, a no-holds-barred peek inside the world of Ridley Scott's Prometheus. And after this morning's sneak peek of 12 minutes of footage from the movie with Alien DNA, that excitement hasn't abated any. In fact, it's ramped up a notch or ten.

Joss Whedon Talks The Cabin In The Woods
If you go down to the cinema on Friday, you're sure for a big surprise, because The Cabin In The Woods is like nothing you've seen. It's the film that soon the whole movie-going world will be talking about. What will they be saying? Well, probably not too much. It's that kind of movie. Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's meta love-letter to horror movies is so mined with spoilers that when Empire sat producer Whedon down to talk about it we had to ask questions with hands clamped over our ears (and we'd seen it) as he told us about its influences and inspirations, as well as a few choice Avengers nuggets.

The Empire Podcast #7 Is Here!
It's week seven of the Empire Podcast and this time we've got two directors for you to enjoy: Mike Newell, the man behind Four Weddings And A Funeral, Donnie Brasco and Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire, as well as The Cabin In The Woods' Drew Goddard.

The Changing Faces Of The Hulk
Hulk is on his third big-screen outing in less than a decade, and his fourth major incarnation overall. Each time, his design has been tweaked and altered, even though he always looks more-or-less like a giant angry green man. As Avengers Assemble inches ever closer to release, here's a spotter's guide to the many screen Hulks, so you'll be able to distinguish them all at a glance.

    Battleship Interviews
If the words "You sunk my battleship!" make you think of holly-wapped Christmases past, think again. Peter Berg's explodiganza may be a board-game adaption in name; in reality, it's a cordite-drenched blockbuster that sets the navies of Earth against an expedition of intergalactic space bastards in the seas of the Pacific. Fish may have been hurt in the making of this film. To find out what it was like to tread in the soggy footsteps of Kevin Costner's Hawaiian-shot Waterworld, we got the director and his cast (and crew), including Rihanna, Taylor Kitsch and Brooklyn Decker, to talk about making the film. Expect serious naval-gazing.

10 Step Guide To Surviving First Contact With Alien Races
Miss Manners, for all her strengths, is strangely silent on the correct behaviour when making first contact with an extraterrestrial race. But where other etiquette guides fail, Empire is here to help. If, like the stars of Battleship this week, you find yourself in a first contact situation, the following examples may prove to be useful illustrations of what to do – and what to avoid…

    Fairy Tales Movie Poster Mashups
With Mirror Mirror out in cinemas and Snow White And The Huntsman arriving shortly, the Brothers Grimm's tales fairy have never had a more cinematic year. And what better way to celebrate that fact than to ask our team of movie poster masher-uppers to create some one-sheets inspired by their work? Wait, don't answer that...

    Prometheus Q&A
This Tuesday our Chris Hewitt hosted a Q&A in London on one of the year's most exciting films, Prometheus. Sir Ridley Scott, Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron joined Chris to talk about the film, after showing the audience a few minutes of footage. Some spoilers follow, but as far as we can tell they're fairly minor...

Karaoke chain Lucky Voice has removed the Little Shop Of Horrors songs from its menu. This is a DISASTER.

Best headline ever? This is how to do PR. Baby Avengers. Batman characters animation.

    The Cabin In The Woods

Part Evil Dead, part The Truman Show, part Arthur Christmas... For horror hounds who love a larf, and those of us who always wondered exactly what that dry-ice stuff that rises out of the forest-floor moss is. A fun ride - but not quite a Scream.
